A New Start – Introducing Tonya Jansky
FROM JODI

Here we are at the day of our office Holiday Closure, and of course, not all the work is done. But one thing we have accomplished in the last 6 weeks is bringing on our new Senior Paralegal, Tonya Jansky. We have finally found our experienced Senior Paralegal, who is the perfect fit for our Team. Tonya’s experience in family law spans 18 years. Her calm, empathetic, wise approach to the work of family law stems from Tonya’s true passion to assist people in their time of need.

Tonya grew up in the Houston area and loves spending time with her family and friends in her free time. Tonya and her husband, Brian, have been married for 20 years and have two beautiful children together; Hayden plays football at West Texas A&M University, and Cloie is a high school basketball player. We are so happy to welcome the Jansky family to our extended family.

Tonya has joined our Team virtually from the Houston area, but it feels like she is right next door. We are so proud of the work of our Team to develop a remote recruiting program to support our virtual office staffing needs. This year, we learned how to recruit, hire and onboard a valued Team member in a remote work environment. And we are ready to use this model as we continue to fill our Team in the New Year – stay tuned!

We say goodbye to our beloved Tiki Good this year, who has decided with her husband, Kellen, to move back to her home city of Los Angeles to raise their son, Kobe, and to build their careers there. Tiki shouldered so much of the work this year with patience and determination and loyalty. We are so sad to see her go, even though we understand her life’s journey.

We wish you a joyful holiday season. We wish you rest and peace. We wish you time with the cherished people in your lives. We wish you whatever new start in life you need. We will see you on the other side of the New Year.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support this year. Change is so hard, but necessary, and good in the end.

Be Stellar,

Jodi

FEATURING AUSTIN

How to Holiday in Austin
by: Aubrey Rosenthal

It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone. Although this time of year can feel like a never-ending list of to-dos, I have compiled a list of fun and festive holiday activities you can do to unwind here in Austin.

Mozart’s Annual Christmas Light Show: Each year, Mozart’s exceeds expectations with their light show. The Light Show is on display nightly through January 6, 2023. This year, Mozart’s is offering a variety of options to experience the festivities. The first option is to purchase a full-service table reservation. The Bavarian Marketplace offers free admission with standing room only. The third way to enjoy the Light Show is from a boat on Lake Austin. Climb on board and watch the lights from the water followed by a cruise around the lake. The newest addition to Mozart’s Light Show is a silent disco. The silent disco only happens on Fridays and Saturdays so make sure to plan accordingly.

Ice Skate at the Long Center: From now until January 1st, you can pretend you are at Rockefeller Plaza in New York and ice skate at the Long Center. Tickets include skate rentals and one hour on the ice. Be sure to stay warm with cocoa, popcorn, cookies, and a Hot Toddy, all available at the rink.

Austin Trail of Lights: One of the most popular attractions in Austin during the holiday season is the Austin Trail of Lights. This Austin tradition started in 1965 as a small gathering. Now it welcomes more than 400,000 guests from around the world. Zilker Park is filled with 2 million lights, 90-holiday trees, and more than 70-holiday displays and lighted tunnels.

Peppermint Parkway at the Circuit of The Americas: Peppermint Parkway is a drive-thru mile-long immersive holiday experience. Filled with lights, dancing characters, and a plaza filled with rides, food, and activities for the whole family. Tickets are customizable with the option to even add a lap around the F1 racetrack. The Peppermint Parkway has special nights including Healthcare Worker Night, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community Night, Military Monday, Teacher Appreciation, and Del Valle Family nights. If you are looking to purchase a tree, Circuit of Americas also has an affordable tree lot to take home with you.

Armadillo Christmas Bazaar Through December 23rd you can check out the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. A perfect place to shop locally for holiday gifts the Christmas Bazaar features local and touring artists. You can also listen to live music featuring the best of Austin. The 40,000 square feet space is filled with galleries, gift shops, full bars, local food from Austin, and a stage to enjoy the live music.

Creative Co-Parenting Schedules

The “every-other-weekend and a weeknight dinner” schedule that has been the default, standard possession order for eons may not be the best possession time schedule for your family and your kids. A benefit of working with an experienced family law attorney is the opportunity to craft a possession order that is a good fit for your unique circumstances and in the best interest of your kids. While you can always informally agree otherwise, you must have a schedule in your custody orders, so it is imperative the schedule in your custody orders is something you can live with.

A Year to be Open

A Year to be Open

FROM JODI It is a New Year, and we have made it through January. By the time the end of January rolls around, I have forgotten all about the holidays and even the year before. We are full-on 2024, now! I also like to tackle January with its own specific goals, an...
